What does a copywriter do?
Copywriting is a centuries-old profession. It uses persuasive sales techniques for marketing and sales content.
For most content that accompanies a service or product, whether it be on social media, in a magazine or on a website, a professional copywriter crafted those words. The internet and social media have evolved copywriting in a big way. Good copywriters will incorporate SEO techniques.
They will also thoroughly understand how the target audience uses the internet and weave it into each article they craft – along with many other strategies and tactics.
Standard pieces of copywriting include
Blogs

What is the difference between copywriting and copyright?
A Copywriter crafts articles for marketing and sales purposes. In contrast, copyright is the legal ownership of property to protect the original authorship.
In this setting, copyright has no relevance. If you want advice on a copyright, you’ll need to speak to a lawyer.
What is SEO?
SEO stands for Search Engine Optimisation. It employs various tactics to increase the quantity and quality of organic search engine results.
Organic search results are lists appearing when you search terms in search engines such as Google or Bing. These terms are also known as keywords. When a website is adequately search engine optimised, it shows up in the top positions of search pages.
The organic results on pages 1-2 of Google are not there by accident. Google uses its algorithm to pull up the sites in its directory most relevant to the keywords you type in. The websites in the top results that aren’t using ads are not there because they paid their way. They’re there because they used SEO strategies that are totally available to you.
You don’t need to be a big corporation or have deep pockets to rank high on Google. Only copy that's searchable on the internet needs SEO. Emails, for example, do not need SEO.

Why is SEO important for your business?
A large portion of online experiences starts with a search engine. Google has 99,000 searches every single second. That’s 8.5 billion searches a day. SEO helps your business’s website be more visible online in search engines. More visibility means more sales opportunities. Well-written articles by a copywriter knowledgeable in your field will also establish you as an authority – the go-to person.
What's the difference between copywriting and content writing?
Well-crafted copywriting inspires action, like signing up for an email list or purchasing a product or service. In contrast, content writing is meant to educate or build relationships. Both have a place. It depends on what you are trying to achieve. For the most part, you don’t need to worry about this. When you do a discovery call with me, we’ll discuss your business objectives.
